Cost of living in Singapore

Singapore is the world's most expensive city. Singapore a small little red dot on the map, the most expensive city!

4 room HDB flat - $289000 to $341000
Toyota Vios 1.5 Elegance - $120888
10kg of rice - from $18.30
1L mineral water - from $2.35
Refrigerated fresh whole chicken - from $2.90
Cooking Oil - from $16.15
1L of 95 unleaded of petrol - $2.35
1 movie ticket on a weekend - $13

Why is it so expensive in Singapore?
Let me take an example, the petrol. The petrol price has been increasing as the government wants to limit the number of cars on the road, which might lead to air pollution.
Another example, a mineral water. It is just 1L and the cheapest is $2.35! It seems ridiculous apparently. This is because we have to import water from other country due to the lack of resources in Singapore.

HOWEVER, Singapore government subsidies some amount to Singaporean in terms of education and health. This reduces the burden on citizens. As a secondary school student, my school fee is $15 but in China it is $131.49. This shows that the money used are of different places.

This is a video about Singapore being the most expensive country:
